Rythym, Rhyme and Harmony

Hello, Friends! I am so proud to introduce Lyrical Sunshine!

My name is Lindsey and I am the founder of Lyrical Sunshine. The world is too dark right now. I felt drawn to a create a space to send good energy into the universe. My company was born from the belief that certain lyrics have the power to hold you, lift you, and even guide you through. My intention is to brighten someone’s day—or maybe even their whole perspective. Whether you're gifting encouragement or simply holding on to words that carry you, Lyrical Sunshine is your reminder that there is beauty in song lyrics. You just have to keep looking to the sun—and maybe, sing along.

A Little About Me

I am a child of the 70's, heavily influenced by music of that time. We burned through countless 8-tracks of Carole King's Tapestry while singing out loud in the car. I can probably remember every word to that album. I loved singer/songwriters who sang about love and hope and told stories in their lyrics. I was also enamored with the greatest divas of that generation - Dolly and Cher. As a teen in the 80's, it was all about heavy metal and hair bands. By college in the early 90's, I pretty much only wanted to follow the Grateful Dead. My husband and I screamed Foo Fighters in the car and danced and sang along to Destiny's Child as newlyweds. And then my two boys raised me on the music of their time. My niece made me a Little Monster!

Needless to say, I love all kinds of music. But what I really hold dear are the lyrics. I take them to heart and keep the meaningful ones in my head. I always find myself with an earworm of sorts. Usually, it's my most recently played song, but sometimes, random lyrics find their way out at a time of struggle. They become a kind of mantra that lifts me up and carries me through. I think it's my super power of sorts and I want to share it with you.

Playlists

Below is Lyrical Sunshine, Vol. 1. It's a playlist of the songs that inspired the launch of my store. Listen and find the lines that make you laugh, smile, feel something, or take to heart. Each week, I intend to write about a song or two and why I consider them to be lyrical sunshine. Share with me in the comments which songs and/or lyrics you hold true. I can't wait to hear your song!

Live in the Sun Not the Shade,

Lindsey
