I love the Grateful Dead. Their music is a big part of my life. I have been to more than my fair share of shows over the decades. Each totally unique. We'd play "name that tune" when Jerry Garcia and Bobby Weir tried to work out what to play next right on stage. And the day itself would become legendary, the best adventure amongst friends. We'd browse Shakedown Street for a grilled cheese and the coolest merch. My tie-dye collection was cherished. Dead shows were my FAVORITE day ever!
My love for the band never faded, but I couldn't bring myself to see another of their live shows for a long time after Jerry left us. I had a big regret. I had passed up a ticket to what would be his last show because I was too lazy to deal with traffic from the suburbs (of all things!) when offered a ticket for that day's show. But within a very short time, Jerry Garcia was gone and the Grateful Dead would never be the same. I was devastated that I missed that concert.
That was a huge lesson for me. You have to say yes to opportunity otherwise you may end up missing out on life. It took me MANY years to truly understand this lesson and to embrace it. Don't ever say no to an experience out of indifference or laziness. You never know who you'll meet, what treasures you can find or the coolest places you may see.

Ride out singing, I'll walk you in the morning sunshine

So thank you Grateful Dead, for your music, your live shows and all of your lyrical sunshine. You remind me to take chances and live life. I'm blooming like a red rose and breathing more freely today. I finally said yes to creating Lyrical Sunshine after thinking about it for years. I couldn't be more excited to be on this new adventure right now and love seeing it grow and evolve. I hope you take your own leap of faith and head out on your own escapades. I hope it leads you to your own morning sunshine and its unlimited possibilities.
Sunshine Daydream,
Lindsey
